Measuring and Labelling Your Items

To work out the cubic volume (m3) of your freight you need to measure 3 things:
1. The length of the freight (in centimetres)
2. The width of the freight (in centimetres)
3. The height of the freight (in centimetres)

Once you have these three measurements, enter them into the freight measurement fields on the Get Estimate Screen and the total volume in cubic metres for the item(s) will be automatically calculated for you.

If you wish to manually work out the total volume in cubic metres, divide each dimension by 100 to convert them from centimetres into metres (e.g 120 cm/100 = 1.2M). Then multiply the three measurements together to get the volume for the item in cubic metres.

Notes to Remember:

1. If freight is palletised, the pallet must be included in the measurement.
2. Measurements must be made at the longest length, the widest width and the highest height

Labelling

All items of freight must be labelled clearly with the Receivers
  • Name
  • Street address (including flat or building number if applicable)
  • Suburb (if available)
  • Town/City Name
  • Contact phone number.
  • For Example:
    Edward Stevens
    Flat C, 98 Church Street
    Onehunga
    Auckland
    Phone: 021 798 030

Multiple packages should be clearly numbered on each piece showing the total number of pieces
  • For example for 3 pieces: 1/3, 2/3, 3/3
